Be and Love Yourself First

How is someone suppose to know you if you don't even know you? Decide what you like and don't. Be yourself. It's one of the best things you can do for you whether you're in a relationship or not. But you can't just be yourself you have to love just being you.
Jesus Christ counsels us to "love thy neighbor as thyself". This is not just a commandment to love your neighbor but to love yourself as well. The way you feel about yourself is reflected in the way you treat others.
It's hard to find someone to love you if you don't love yourself. Although it's possible, I have noticed in my experience in life people are generally attracted to those who are (or portray themselves to be) confident in life and themselves.

Be what you are looking for....

So many of you may have heard the idea that you should have a list of what you want in a future companion. Also you may have heard that it's good to be what you want. The question now is are you now or working on becoming everything you want in a future companion. that is one thing I have always tried to do.
I think if I would have thought about this more before I might have got the guys I've met that are everything I want. I have been and am still working on being what I want. I decided I want a guy who dances so I am taking a dance class. I want a guy who apprienciates music, because my major is music. Many of the things I want in a future companion I want them because that's what I am already or I am striving to become whatever the characteristic may be. I do not think I'm the only person who does this, actually I can almost guaruntee that I am not.
I hope this doesn't discourage you from writing that list. I think it is a great idea to write a list of what you want but make it not only a list of what you want but a list of who you are and what you want to do with your life.

How this site came to be...

So I was talking with one of my friends, Adrianna Atencio (she asked for credit on the idea), discussing relationships and guys and ect. I had said a couple things, just kinda words of advice and whatnot when she finally turned to me and asked "Any other words from The Relationship Guru?" at the time I didn;t have anything else to say but I know there are lots of ideas I have that I'd like to share that might help someone out there who decided to read this. So that is the begining of this blog and my facebook group known as Words from the Relationship Guru.
